Privacy Policy

1. Who operates SearchLens

SearchLens is provided by KL25-coder (“we,” “us,” or “the developer”). Questions about this policy can be submitted through the SearchLens privacy-support page.

2. The extension’s single purpose

SearchLens performs an on-demand audit of the user’s active page for search engine optimization (SEO), generative engine optimization (GEO), and AI answer readiness (AIO). It provides scores, findings, recommendations, code examples, and an optional standalone HTML report.

3. Information handled

After you click Analyze current page, SearchLens handles:

• Web browsing activity: the URL of the active page you selected for analysis.
• Website content and resources: rendered metadata and page signals such as the title, description, robots directive, canonical URL, headings, word count, link counts, image alternative-text status, structured-data types, authorship and date signals, citations, semantic elements, lists, tables, and accessibility signals.
• Extension preferences: audit display settings such as whether to apply strict title-length guidance and show passed checks.

SearchLens does not intentionally collect account credentials, authentication cookies, form values, personal communications, financial information, health information, or precise location.

4. How information is used

The information is used only to produce the audit requested by the user, display and filter its findings, create recommendations and code examples, and generate an HTML report when the user chooses to export one.

5. Local processing, storage, and retention

• Page analysis and scoring occur locally in the browser.
• The latest audit is stored in chrome.storage.session so the popup can be reopened during the current browser session. The popup ignores an audit after 15 minutes, and Chrome clears session storage when the browser session ends.
• Preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local until you clear the extension’s data or remove the extension.
• An exported HTML report is saved only to the location you choose. It remains under your control and must be deleted by you when no longer wanted.

6. Transmission, sharing, and sale

SearchLens does not transmit page URLs, website content, audit results, or settings to the developer or third parties. We do not sell user data. We do not use user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, analytics, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose. No human at the developer can access the locally processed information.

7. Permissions

• activeTab permits access only to the active page on which you invoke SearchLens.
• scripting runs the bundled page-signal collector after you request an audit.
• storage retains local preferences and the latest browser-session audit as described above.

SearchLens does not request persistent host access, browsing-history permission, or access to all tabs.

8. Security and remote code

All executable code is packaged with the extension. SearchLens does not load remote JavaScript, use a backend service, or include advertising or analytics SDKs. Because audit data is not transmitted by the extension, no developer-controlled server stores it.

9. Your choices and deletion

You control when an audit runs. You can end temporary retention by restarting Chrome, clear extension storage through Chrome’s extension/site-data controls, remove the extension, and delete any reports you exported.

10. Children

SearchLens is a general technical tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If SearchLens’s data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the changed practices are introduced. Material changes will be disclosed as required by applicable policy or law.

12. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
